elastics can be worn at 1st day of treatment or after aligning or at finishing stageelastics can be used in class I , crossbite , class II , close open bite , Class III or Appliances
In case of class II div 2 with less y axis we should use elastic class II from the 1st day We also use elastic in face mask ( skeletal class III )
it can be worn during eating or removed then fixed after eating Each force applied by elastics can be changed to direction and traction method We have many types of elastics classified according to 1- Size ⅛ ²⁄₈ ³⁄₁₆ ⁵⁄₁₆
2- Tention Light - Medium - Heavy
3- Oz 3.5 , 4.5 ,5.5
We can use elastic size number as an indicator to how many tooth we can use elastics on like elastic size 2/16 can be used between only 2 teethSize ³⁄₁₆ can be used with 3 teethSize ⁴⁄₁₆ can be used with 4 teeth
